The Master of Education (M.Ed.) program is a two-year professional course designed to prepare educators, curriculum developers, educational policy analysts, planners, administrators, supervisors, school principals, and researchers. The program, structured under the faculty of Education, offers a blend of theoretical and practical learning experiences. It aims to deepen students' knowledge and understanding of educational practices while also developing their research capacities and specialized skills in either elementary or secondary education.
Throughout the four semesters, students will engage in core courses, specialized courses, and extensive field immersion experiences. These components are carefully designed to provide a comprehensive education that integrates academic learning with real-world application. The program emphasizes interaction, consultation, and mentoring, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the diverse roles they may assume in the field of education.
Course Objectives
- To prepare highly skilled educational professionals who can assume leadership roles as teacher educators, curriculum developers, educational policy analysts, planners, administrators, supervisors, school principals, and researchers.
- To provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of educational theories, practices, and research methodologies, enabling students to specialize in either elementary or secondary education.
- To develop research capacities among students, fostering the ability to conduct rigorous academic research that can contribute to the field of education.
- To offer practical experience through field immersion, attachments, and internships, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world educational settings.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Education (M.Ed.) program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates must have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- A minimum aggregate score of 50% in the B.Ed. program is required for general category candidates.
- For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories, a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate score may be provided as per university norms.
Award of Degree
Those who complete the programme successfully shall be awarded Bachelor of Education degree by Magadh University, BodhGaya in prescribed format specifying the Class/Division/Grade in which he/she was placed.
