Department of Education

The Department of Education was established in 2007 with the permission of State Govt. of Bihar & Chancellor's Secretariat(Raj Bhawan). It has B.Ed, M.Ed & Ph.D Programmes. The regulation of the programmes has been prepared and finalized by the statutory bodies of the University and approved by the Inter University Board (Bihar) and asserted to His Excellency the Governor-cum-Chancellor of Universities of Bihar.

The Department of Education, Magadh University, BodhGaya is imparting teaching - learning and facilitating research work since its inception. The Department is marching ahead in the stewardship of our Vice chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Shahi and is well equipped with Hi-tech class rooms, different labs, Seminar Hall , Conference Room, enriched library with reading room, & ICT lab contributes to a state of art infrastructure transforming the department in an international site of facilitating and constructing knowledge.

Our Aims & Objectives

With a focus on quality, excellence, and standard in teacher education, the department aims to produce competent, innovative, and responsive educators who will contribute to the formation of a learning society. By equipping future teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge, the department seeks to play a decisive role in the development of education in Bihar and beyond, ultimately shaping the virtue and quality of life in society.”
  • To provide high-quality teacher education through B.Ed., M.Ed., and Ph.D. programs that are rigorously regulated and approved by statutory bodies and the Chancellor of Universities of Bihar.
  • To foster a conducive learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including hi-tech classrooms, specialized labs, seminar halls, conference rooms, and an enriched library with ICT facilities.
  • To prepare professionally efficient teachers who are capable of facing the challenges of an evolving educational landscape in India, ensuring they are ready to learn, earn, and serve society effectively.
  • To promote research and innovation in the field of education, encouraging teacher-trainees to develop skills that make them responsive and constructive contributors to the teaching profession.
